Last year I had the opportunity to start working with Donovan and his team at Woodstyle. I interviewed a number of builders and felt that his personal style was a good match for my team and me. The home is lake front executive, sleek and modern using some of the newest concepts such as burnt wood siding. Donovan worked hard to research the new products to minimize any issues, as we were the first to use burnt wood in B C on a residential home, and many of the appliances we utilized were again the first time in the valley. Donovan also focused in on the budget we had established and kept us updated on any changes that would have an impact on our cost forecast and or schedule. Many in Calgary said there is no way you can finish a home like that in such a reasonable time and yes.. We did finish it within that schedule and to the standards that a home of this nature demands. Any issues that arose, and it is normal to have issues in any project, were addressed personally and promptly. Donovan took responsibility for his team of vendors and it was clear that there was a solid working relationship and mutual respect. The work site was always in order, and the team enjoyed their work and the pride in their work was evident all the time.
Donovan and his team also undertook an effective renovation of an older cottage/home for me with a very different budget and style, economic and practical and they were able to easily shift gears and stay on task.

We liked Donovan’s easy manner and he was very good at explaining the building process and guiding us through the various steps of material selection. The Woodstyle team was attentive to all of our concerns and available for consultation when needed. The trades were well coordinated and there was almost always someone working to progress our home. The project came in on time and on budget. The worksite was kept clean and organized throughout the build, we heard nothing but complements from the neighbors.
